Build guide
Cleric healer (Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition)
Clerics are intermediaries between the mortal world and the distant planes of the gods. They combine the healing power of divine magic with martial capability that varies by domain. A cleric's deity strongly influences their abilities, granting domain spells and special features. Cleric characters are the premier healers and support casters, but they're far more versatile than that. With medium armor, shields, and a powerful spell list, Clerics can serve as front-line fighters, battlefield controllers, or dedicated healers. The Life Domain (SRD) is the definitive healing subclass, making every healing spell more effective.

Recommended choices
Priorities
- Maximize Wisdom for spell save DC and healing output.
- Prepare Healing Word (bonus action ranged heal) over Cure Wounds in most situations.
- Don't just heal, Bless and Spirit Guardians prevent more damage than healing fixes.
Play tips
- Healing in combat is best used to pick up downed allies, not to top off HP.
- Clerics are prepared casters: swap spells daily to fit the situation.
- Medium or heavy armor lets you stand near the frontline safely.
