Acting (Cyberpunk RED)

Skills

Definition

Acting is the skill of convincing performance—pretending to be someone else, faking emotions, maintaining a cover identity, and generally making people believe something that isn't true through your behavior and demeanor. In Night City's world of deception and hidden agendas, Acting is an infiltrator's best friend. Acting uses your COOL stat and covers all forms of deceptive performance. This goes beyond simple lying—it's about fully embodying a role. You can impersonate a corporate employee to walk through secure areas, fake being injured to lure in would-be helpers, pretend to be a customer in a shop you're casing, or maintain an undercover identity for weeks or months. Acting opposes Human Perception, making it the offensive counterpart to that defensive social skill. A skilled actor in Night City can walk into almost any situation wearing the right persona and walk out with whatever they came for, because nobody questioned whether they belonged there.
