Firearms (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)

Skills

Definition

Firearms covers the use of guns and other projectile weapons. While vampires are supernaturally tough, bullets still hurt, and Firearms provides a way to deal significant damage from a distance. Many modern vampires maintain some proficiency with firearms, as they remain common in both mortal and Kindred conflicts. However, the noise and evidence they create can be problematic for maintaining the Masquerade.

How it works

**Common Rolls**: - Dexterity + Firearms: Shooting, accuracy - Composure + Firearms: Aiming under pressure **Damage**: Firearms deal Superficial damage to vampires but can be lethal to mortals. **Specialties**: Pistols, Rifles, Shotguns, Automatic Weapons, Quick Draw, Sniping

Tips

**Character Concepts**: Former soldier, cop, gangster, hunter survivor, security contractor. **Considerations**: Firearms are noisy and leave evidence. They're less useful against vampires than mortals but still relevant.

Frequently asked questions

Are firearms effective against vampires?

Firearms deal Superficial damage to vampires, which is halved before being applied. They're useful but not ideal. Fire and sunlight are more effective.
