Enemy (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)

Flaws

Definition

The Enemy flaw means someone out there wants to see you fail, suffer, or die. This could be a rival vampire, a hunter, a mortal you wronged, or even a former ally turned adversary. Enemies provide the Storyteller with a recurring antagonist who can complicate your plans and create dramatic tension. The more powerful or resourceful your enemy, the more points the flaw is worth.

How it works

**Effect**: Your enemy will periodically interfere with your plans, spread rumors, or take direct action against you. **Severity**: Ranges from a persistent annoyance (1 dot) to a powerful elder or organization (3+ dots). **Storyteller Tool**: The ST decides when and how your enemy appears.

Tips

**Character Concepts**: Betrayed partner, territorial dispute survivor, escaped prisoner, political rival. **Creating Your Enemy**: Work with your Storyteller to define who your enemy is, why they hate you, and what resources they have.

Frequently asked questions

Can I resolve the Enemy flaw through gameplay?

Yes! If you permanently deal with your enemy (through destruction, reconciliation, or removing their power), you lose the flaw. However, the Storyteller may require you to take another flaw or spend XP.
