Unbondable (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)
Unbondable (Vampire: The Masquerade 5th Edition)
Merits
Definition
Unbondable means no vampire can ever blood bond you. You can drink Kindred vitae three nights running and feel nothing but the taste. In a society where elders keep childer loyal through the bond, that freedom is rare and quietly feared. Elders who learn of it may see you as either a prize or a threat, since the usual leash will not work.
How it works
**Effect**: You cannot become blood bound, no matter how often you drink from the same vampire. Existing bonds cannot form. **Cost**: The most expensive bonding-related merit; in most V5 tables it takes five dots, and RPG Stack records it as a single merit on the sheet. **Limits**: It does not stop you from bonding others, and it offers no protection against Dominate or Presence. **Synergies**: Pairs with Iron Will for characters built to resist supernatural control.
Tips
**Character concepts**: Anarch ideologue, elder's failed pet, Tremere defector, coterie negotiator who drinks with everyone. **When to take**: Take it if your chronicle centers on court intrigue where bonds are currency. In street-level games the cost rarely pays off.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still bond other vampires or ghouls?
Yes. Unbondable only protects you from being bound. Your own vitae works normally on others.
Does Unbondable stop the Tremere bane?
The Tremere bane concerns bonding others and being harder to bond. Unbondable removes the possibility of being bound entirely, so the two do not interact.
