Overview
A Homid Garou was born to human parents and grew up with human language, schooling, and attachments, meeting the wolf only at the First Change. Most new players start here because the character already knows how the mortal world works. That comfort cuts both ways. Instinct arrives late and reads as an intrusion, and packmates born to the wild treat human habits as noise. Homids keep the widest circle of Touchstones and lose the most when Rage takes over.
How it works
Birth: Human parents. The First Change reveals the heritage, usually in the teens or twenties. Sheet Impact: Breed is an identity field, not a dice modifier. Attribute, Skill, and Renown distributions are identical for all three breeds. Form Note: Homid also names the human form, which grants no bonuses and is the only shape that passes in public.
Tips and playstyle
Best for: First-time Werewolf players, and characters who must move through cities and workplaces without explaining themselves. Character concepts: The beat cop who changed on shift, a graduate student pulled out of a lab, a parent hiding a second life. Synergies: Glass Walkers and Bone Gnawers hold urban ground, and a human upbringing pays for Persuasion, Insight, and Streetwise.
Frequently asked questions
Is Homid the most common breed?
Yes. Human parents vastly outnumber wolf and Garou parents, so most Garou were born human and found out later.
Homid is both a breed and a form. Same thing?
They share a name only. Breed is how you were born; the form is the human shape every Garou can wear.
