Overview
A Metis is the child of two Garou, a union the Litany forbids. Every Metis carries a visible deformity and grows up inside the sept rather than discovering it at the First Change, learning rites and tribal politics before human life. The cost is standing. Septs treat Metis as living proof of a broken law, so the character starts with earned knowledge and unearned contempt. Many turn that into sharp competence, black humor, or a reason to leave.
How it works
Birth: Both parents are Garou. The pairing breaks the Litany, which is why Metis are rare and resented. Deformity: Spend part of your 2 starting Flaw points on the mark to give it weight. Extra Flaws buy extra Merits. Sheet Impact: Breed never modifies dice. A Metis rolls the same Attribute plus Skill pools as any other Garou.
Tips and playstyle
Best for: Players who want a character born into the war with no mortal life to return to, and who enjoy being an outsider among their own. Character concepts: The sept's unwanted armorer, a Theurge who learned rites as chores, a duelist answering every insult. Synergies: Sept upbringing justifies Occult and Etiquette. Shadow Lords and Black Furies give the resentment a direction.
Frequently asked questions
Why are Metis so rare?
Garou law forbids two Garou from having children. Most Metis exist because their parents broke it, and the sept remembers.
Do Metis start knowing more than other breeds?
About Garou society, yes. About human life or wolf instinct they are the least prepared of the three.
