Overview

The Galestalkers follow the wind. They scout, hunt, and move on, defending territory by knowing everything around it rather than by sitting in the middle of it. Their patron is North Wind and their favored Renown is Honor, which for this tribe means finishing what you started even when walking away would be easier. In play the Galestalker is the pack's range and its early warning. You take the wide route, find the trail, and come back with what the sept did not know. Lupus form carries the role, adding 2 dice to Stealth and Survival tests, and Hispo covers the moment a hunt becomes a fight. The friction is with settled tribes: a Galestalker who has already decided the pack should move on has to argue for it rather than go.

Tips and playstyle

Best For: Players who want the outdoors, tracking, and a character who keeps arriving from somewhere else. Playstyle: Put Skill dots into Survival, Athletics, and Awareness, and spend a Specialty on tracking. Travel in Lupus, fight in Hispo or Crinos, and give your character a concrete reason to stay with this particular pack. Character Concepts: Long-haul trucker, wildland firefighter, backcountry guide, storm chaser, a hunter who came for one season and never left.

Frequently asked questions

How does a nomadic tribe work in a fixed chronicle?

Give your character a circuit instead of a home. Galestalkers watch a wide area and pass through the caern often, which is a reason to be at the table every session without ever being settled.

Galestalkers or Silent Striders for a wanderer?

Both travel, for different reasons. Galestalkers hunt and scout, with North Wind as patron and Honor as their affinity. Silent Striders carry Owl, favor Wisdom, and travel because they cannot stop.

Which form does a Galestalker live in?

Lupus on the move, since it adds 2 dice to Stealth and Survival tests and needs no explanation in open country. Homid whenever the trail leads into a town, because a wolf in a parking lot starts a different story.
