Composure (Werewolf: The Apocalypse 5th Edition)
Definition
Composure represents a Garou's emotional stability and self-control. For a werewolf carrying the fire of Rage within them, Composure is the thin line between purposeful action and uncontrolled frenzy. It governs the ability to keep cool when provoked, maintain focus during chaos, and resist the beast within that constantly threatens to overwhelm. In Werewolf 5th Edition, Composure is particularly critical because of Rage. Every Garou walks a razor's edge between harnessing their fury and losing themselves to it. Composure helps a werewolf channel Rage productively rather than lashing out at packmates or innocents. During tense social situations, diplomatic encounters, or moments when the wolf wants to take over, Composure is what keeps a Garou functioning as more than a mindless predator.

Frequently asked questions
How does Composure interact with Rage?
Composure helps resist frenzy when Rage threatens to take over. A Garou with high Rage but low Composure will frenzy frequently, while high Composure allows a werewolf to harness Rage more deliberately.
Is Composure the same as being emotionless?
No. Composure means controlling when and how you express emotions. A high-Composure Garou feels Rage just as intensely but chooses when to unleash it rather than being controlled by it.
