Persuade (Call of Cthulhu 7th Edition)
Definition
Persuade represents your ability to convince others through logical argument, emotional appeal, and credibility. Unlike Fast Talk (which relies on speed and confusion), Persuade builds genuine agreement. In investigations, Persuade helps you gain cooperation from witnesses, convince authorities to help, and negotiate with those who might otherwise be obstacles.

Frequently asked questions
When should I use Persuade vs Fast Talk?
Use Persuade when you have time and want lasting cooperation. Use Fast Talk when you need quick results or are telling lies. Persuade creates genuine agreement; Fast Talk exploits momentary confusion.
Can Persuade override self-interest?
Persuade works best when aligned with the target's interests. Trying to convince someone to act against strong self-interest requires higher difficulties.
