Resolve (Hunter: The Reckoning 5th Edition)
Definition
Resolve represents mental fortitude, determination, focus, and sheer stubbornness in the face of adversity. For hunters, Resolve is the Attribute that keeps them going when everything rational screams at them to stop -- to put down the weapons, forget what they've seen, and go back to normal life. The Hunt demands things of people that no sane person would willingly endure. Resolve is what makes hunters choose to walk into the darkness anyway. It fuels the determination to finish a stake-out on the third sleepless night, to keep investigating after a cell member dies, and to face a monster even when you know how outmatched you are. Resolve also contributes to Willpower and is critical for resisting supernatural mental influence. When a vampire attempts to dominate your mind or a ghost tries to overwhelm you with despair, Resolve is the steel wall between your consciousness and the monster's power.

Frequently asked questions
Why is Resolve so important for hunters specifically?
Hunters are mortals facing supernatural mind control, paralyzing fear, and reality-shattering revelations. Resolve contributes to Willpower, which is the primary defense against all of these. A hunter with low Resolve is vulnerable to becoming a puppet.
