Daggerheart domain
Sage
Sage is a domain in Daggerheart: nature, healing, and the practical wisdom of the wild.

Overview
Sage is the living world as a card pool: growth, beasts, weather, terrain, and the healing that comes out of knowing all of it. It is the clearest source of restoration outside Splendor, which matters in a system where a character has six HP slots and five stress slots and no easy way to refill either mid-fight. The Druid takes it with Arcana and the Ranger takes it with Bone. Both of those classes live outdoors, but their traits differ: the Druid leads with Instinct and the Ranger with Agility, so Sage serves one as a source of power and the other as a source of competence.
How it works
Classes: Druid (paired with Arcana) and Ranger (paired with Bone). The Druid's primary trait is Instinct and the Ranger's is Agility. Card Types: Healing and stress relief, plant and beast effects, terrain and weather manipulation, and wilderness utility that solves travel problems. Restorative options commonly cost your own Hope. Themes: Nature, healing, and the wisdom of the wild.
Tips and playstyle
Best for: Druids, whose whole identity sits here, and Rangers who want to be the party's field medic as well as its tracker. Character concepts: Grove keeper, herbalist, beast speaker, storm reader, a guide who has walked every road on the map twice. Synergies: Instinct covers the sensing and survival rolls that Sage cards support, and Knowledge covers the medicine side when a problem needs diagnosing rather than feeling out. Sage with Arcana (the Druid) is restoration plus raw force. Sage with Bone (the Ranger) is the complete wilderness package: track it, survive it, and patch up afterward.
Frequently asked questions
Is Sage the healing domain?
It is one of two. Sage heals through nature and recovery, while Splendor heals through radiance and divine power. A party with a Druid or a Seraph has an answer for marked HP slots; a party with neither should plan around rest.
Can a Ranger heal with Sage cards?
Yes, though not as deeply as a Druid who invests most of their picks there. Rangers split their choices with Bone, so expect field patching and stress relief rather than a full recovery engine.
Does Sage help with travel?
Substantially. Terrain, weather, foraging, and animal contact are all in scope, which turns overland journeys from a series of failed rolls into something the party can steer.
