Overview
Toreador are the beautiful artists and socialites of the Camarilla, known for their obsession with beauty, art, and aesthetics. They are often patrons of the arts, social butterflies, and hedonists who surround themselves with beautiful things and people. Toreador value art, culture, and social connections above all else. Toreador characters excel at social manipulation, art, and seduction. Their Disciplines (Auspex, Celerity, and Presence) make them excellent socialites, artists, and fighters. They can sense emotions, move with supernatural grace, and inspire awe and desire. However, their clan bane (the Aesthetic) makes them vulnerable to being mesmerized by beauty, sometimes freezing them in place.
How it works
Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Celerity, Presence Clan Bane - The Aesthetic: When you encounter something of exceptional beauty (art, music, a person, etc.), you must succeed on a Composure + Resolve roll or become mesmerized, unable to act for a turn as you appreciate the beauty. Compulsion: When your Compulsion triggers, you must create, appreciate, or surround yourself with beauty. You may stop to admire art, compose poetry, or seek out beautiful experiences, regardless of danger or urgency. Starting Disciplines: Choose 3 dots among Auspex, Celerity, and Presence (max 2 dots in any single Discipline at creation).

Frequently asked questions
Do Toreador have to be artists?
Not necessarily! Toreador are drawn to beauty and aesthetics, but this can manifest in many ways: fashion, architecture, music, social connections, or even the beauty of violence. Any pursuit that involves aesthetics or appreciation of beauty fits.
How does the Aesthetic bane work in combat?
If something beautiful appears during combat (a perfect sword strike, a beautiful opponent, etc.), you might freeze to appreciate it. This can be dangerous, but also adds interesting roleplay opportunities. Work with your Storyteller to make it meaningful, not just a mechanical penalty.
What makes Toreador different from other social clans?
Toreador combine social manipulation (Presence) with artistic appreciation (Auspex) and grace (Celerity). They're not just manipulators. They're artists and aesthetes who value beauty above all else.
Can Toreador be combat-focused?
Yes! Celerity makes Toreador excellent fighters, and many are skilled duelists or martial artists. Their combat style is often graceful and artistic, turning violence into performance art.
