Overview

Tacticians are strategic martial heroes who lead from the front, directing allies and coordinating devastating tactical maneuvers. They see the battlefield as a chess board and their allies as pieces to be moved into perfect position. A good Tactician makes everyone around them more effective. Tactician characters are martial support heroes who enhance the entire party. They grant allies extra actions, improved positioning, and tactical advantages. With high stamina and solid martial abilities, they can hold the front line while directing the battle. They reward players who enjoy thinking several moves ahead.

Tips and playstyle

Character Concepts: Military commander, mercenary captain, chess master, war college graduate, veteran sergeant, resistance leader. Playstyle: Your power is multiplied through your allies. Use your command abilities to give your Fury an extra attack, reposition your Shadow for a perfect strike, or let your Conduit heal when it is not their turn. Think about the whole party's actions, not just your own. Synergies: Makes every other class better. Furies love extra attacks. Shadows love being repositioned. Conduits appreciate the breathing room. Elementalists benefit from enemies grouped by your tactical maneuvers. The Tactician is the ultimate force multiplier.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need to give up my own attacks to use command abilities?

Some command abilities replace your attack, while others are triggered actions or bonus effects on your own attacks. The best Tacticians balance personal damage with ally enhancement. You are still a capable fighter in your own right.

How does Focus work?

Focus is your heroic resource, built through directing allies, using tactical abilities, and making successful attacks. You spend Focus on your most powerful command abilities. Good Tacticians maintain a steady flow of Focus generation throughout combat.

Is the Tactician hard to play?

Tacticians reward system knowledge and tactical thinking, so they may be more demanding than a Fury or Shadow. However, even simple use of command abilities makes a big difference. Start with basic ally buffs and learn the more complex gambits as you grow comfortable.
