Overview
Blood Potency 8 is Antediluvian territory: the third generation, the childer of Caine's childer, the beings each clan is descended from. These are the figures whose waking is what Gehenna means, and V5 chronicles treat their stirring as the background pressure behind the Beckoning that pulls elders east. Nothing at this level is a character in the usual sense. An Antediluvian is a landscape event. When the Ravnos founder woke, it took military force and supernatural intervention to end the week, and the clan never recovered.
How it works
Blood Surge Bonus: Beyond anything a methuselah brings to a roll Mend Amount: Injuries that would destroy an elder close almost as they land Power Bonus: Disciplines operate at a scale the rules for player characters do not model Feeding Penalty: Sustained only by Kindred vitae, in quantities that empty cities Bane Severity: Extreme; the clan curse is written into the creature that started the clan Discipline Max: Effectively unbounded for play purposes
Tips and playstyle
Who Has This: Clan founders, the sleepers under the Middle East, the reason the Gehenna War is being fought Advantages: Every advantage; this is the top of the food chain Disadvantages: Cannot act without ending the world the chronicle takes place in
Frequently asked questions
Can an Antediluvian be a statted opponent?
Treat it as scenery with a will. Any table that puts one in initiative order has already decided how the chronicle ends.
What is the Beckoning?
A pull the eldest Kindred feel toward the Middle East. In V5 it strips cities of elders and leaves younger vampires holding the domains.
